ALL-STAR CONTEST RESULTS
The results for the All-Star Contest are now posted on our web site www.acsl.org.

ALL-STAR CONTEST

The 2008-09 All-Star Contest held at Bob Jones HS, Madison, AL was a great success. The host advisor, Jennifer Roundtree, and her staff of faculty, parents and students did a fantastic job or organizing the event. Every advisor over the 30 years of this event has added a little extra to the contest. This year the addition of a college fair, a laser show and a game night made the All-Star Contest special. A big thank you goes out to the Bob Jones HS staff for all the hard work that went into making the event special.

HOST THE ALL-STAR CONTEST

The site of the 2009-10 All-Star Contest has not yet been determined. If you would like to host the event at your school please contact us at info@acsl.org. We will send you a list of requirements and talk you through the process. It is a lot of work but a very satisfying experience.

APPEALS

A unique event happened at this year's All-Star Contest. For the first time in the 30 year history of the event no appeals were submitted. In the ACSL rules, students can submit written appeals if they think an ACSL answer is incorrect or if they have a correct response to an alternate interpretation of a question. In the past although there were no ACSL errors, students found all kinds of situations they thought merited an appeal. The vast majority of appeals are denied but students did still submit some very interesting appeals.

NEW TEAMS

If you and your students enjoyed participating in ACSL, please tell other teachers about ACSL. If you are going to attend a computer science conference and wouldn't mind bringing some ACSL flyers with you, please contact us and we will get the flyers to you. Any other way you can think of to promote ACSL would be much appreciated.

GEOGRAPHIC REGIONS

ACSL has grouped the teams in the various divisions into geographic regions.  The purpose of the regions is to create more places where ACSL can award prizes.  The highest scoring team in each region will be awarded a plaque.  The highest scoring student (s) in each region will also be awarded a plaque.  In the event of ties, duplicate awards will be made.  Most of the above awards will be presented at the All-star Contest in May.  Plaques will be mailed to those not present.  The winners of the geographic awards are as follows:
